Aqua Ducks, Casey's swimming class

Being on our own here in Singapore made raising Casey a challenge for us. We have to be more creative in a lot of ways especially when it comes to teaching him about our day to day activities and circumstance. We do not have any major concern as my son is growing up to be a very well adjusted little man. However, we noticed that he lack social skills a few months back. He can't be my son if he stays in the corner like a wallpaper, can he? So besides going to the playground to play with other kids the husband and I looked for enrichment classes  to expose him to kids his age. I was already considering zoophonics but given his knowledge on ABC's and phonics from TV and his Ipad my son is pretty much quick to learn so we kept searching for other possible classes to enroll in until the husband managed to find Aquaducks.

Enrollment was pretty straightforward, my husband got to talk with the Coach himself and we were scheduled for a trial class as Casey was just around 20 months old that time of course we were abit wary of him in the pool. A parent has to be with Casey on the classes so that was okey for us and usually what we see is 1 coach for 3 kids only.

To make the long story short, after the trial session we learned that Casey loved swimming so we enrolled him. Enrollment pretty much is done through email and bank transfers for payment. No documents to sign, No meet ups. They wont even look for the bank transfer receipt! The cost is around $30 per 30 minute session if you really get down to it. You pay 1 term of around 12 sessions. You work with the coach on your preferred schedule and you can start class.

Of course this blog won't be complete without seeing my little one and his Dad in action.

there are a few locations to choose from, we chose the one nearest our place
at Nexxus International School
Class is held in the campus pool
With his classmates
and coach Jeroen
Casey enjoys 'flying' very much
very cooperative, don't you see?
he is enjoying himself
he doesn't like this part
jumping to the water he loves to do though
my fave shot that day
We usually take a cab going to class as we are always running late, but going home is always a pleasure
the walk to the bus stop is very relaxing

we crossed the road because we are going to town
a 5 minute walk to the bus stop

and a 20 minute ride to Orchard
Usually after every class either we go to the city or go to Clementi Mall which is 5 minutes away for a quick bite.

So far it has been a very good experience for my son. He is confident not only around other kids but also around water as well.
