Going home after a much deserved break is always heartbreaking. Living the high life in Istana was something we would love to get used too. Down to checking out we were given top of the line service. The staff at club lounge know Casey already even some of the guests play around with my little bugoy. We did our check out there so we got to relax while they process everything for us.
We actually have extra 2 hours to spare but we decided to head to the airport anyway. Our initial plan was to take a cab to KL Sentral and take the train to the airport. However, the taxi driver made us a very good bargain so he can send us all the way to the airport. We went with it and had a comfortable ride plying the very new (just 2 year old) highway to the KLIA from KL. We chose to go to the bigger airport and eat there before going to LCCT and wait for our flight. Malaysia has 2 airports that are quite near each other. There are buses that ferry passengers from one airport to another and the drive is just a short 10-15 minutes. However, one should also consider the waiting time for the buses which is around 20-30 minutes. I would have to say that the changes in LCCT terminal is quite huge. I think going there directly from KL to kill time is not as bad now with the presence of more restaurants and stores.
Our cab driver decided to stop for gas, we were quite surprised when he opened the hood. Apparently the cab is running on LNG. In Malaysia they call it NGV and it is damn cheap! I kinda felt guilty on our deal of RM100 to the airport when his meter started showing RM131 and we are still on the road but when i saw that he only paid RM5 plus for his gas, and i am pretty sure he will get passengers from the airport i know he is making really good money!
The drive from KLIA to LCCT was a very short 10 minute ride that we waited longer for the bus to arrive. It was also a packed ride and the bus are not so comfortable. With the improvements in LCCT i would say it is good enough place to kill time as it is now than go all the way to KLIA as the transport is quite unpredictable. The amenities are so so also and I do not see much difference in the waiting experience in LCCT. Probably there are better places to chill in KLIA that we have not seen on the 2 hours that we were there but with what we saw with both airports we might as well go direct LCCT from KL.
This is LCCT. Its crowded and it takes awhile to understand the 'system' they have in place but for a budget terminal it is quite loaded with things that a tourist would need. That being said it serves its purpose especially when all you just need to do is check in and wait for boarding.
We had a very smooth ride back to SG with my husband obviously now taking the window seat. Casey was very much fine and excited for another plane ride until he puked when we were preparing for landing! The flight attendant had to tell me to buckle up first and clean up later. He was eating too many things and had too much milk to drink. It is his first ever puking experience in the plane and i hope would be the last. Lesson learned, never over feed on plane.
It was a very memorable way to end our vacation. We learned another thing or two as parents and would be more than willing to do it all over again, the better way for sure!
